A work by the young sculptor Ramon Prats. This entails one of the most significant initiatives by the supporters\u2019 club, through popular subscriptions, with the purpose of immortalising Nicolau\u2019s figure. <\/span><\/p>\n

Guillem Timoner, world legend of track winning six world championships, makes a heartfelt floral offering to Josep Nicolau\u2019s bust at Tirador Velodrome after achieving his first world title.<\/p>\n

The crowded masses were also usual elements during the years after his passing. One of the most remarkable ones was celebrated for the 25th anniversary of his death. This event was organised at Tirador Velodrome by the Veloz Sport society. The mass is officiated at the track, which all members of the current sphere attend: the Cycling Federation, judges, leaders of Veloz, representatives from many cycling clubs, managers of already disappeared supporters clubs\u2026 <\/span><\/p>\n

Decadence arrives at Tirador. Because of the poor state of the gardens, where Nicolau\u2019s bust is located, thanks to Coll\u2019s initiative along with some people from the village, the bust is permanently installed in Lloret. The inauguration act is presided by the major of the village, Josep Roig Negret, by Veloz Sports Balear\u2019s executive, Jeroni Massanet, who is accompanied by Jeroni Albert\u00ed and members of Nicolau supporters\u2019 club\u2019s board. <\/p>\n

Lloren\u00e7 Munar and Miquel Mulet began this task during the 50th anniversary of his death. These lyrics are transmitted by Bartomeu Obrador Obrador in Portocolom, Pep Fontirroig, Toni de Son Munar, and Caterina Munar Mart\u00ed, from Lloret. Later, Lloret Cycling Club recovered them from Guillem Martorell Jaume Taris, during the commemoration of the centenary of his birth. <\/span>Tarins<\/span><\/i>, durant la commemoraci\u00f3 del centenari del seu naixement.<\/span><\/p>\n

As it has been done since the foundation of Lloret Cycling Club in 1989, the club commemorates the presentation of the teams and members with a picture in front of Josep Nicolau\u2019s bust.<\/p>\n

Lloret Cycling Club carries different homage acts, which coincide with the centenary of Nicolau\u2019s birth. Floral tributes and photographic exhibitions with unpublished pictures Nicolau are the most outstanding acts. <\/p>\n

Lloret Cycling Club organises the first edition of Josep Nicolau Memorial. The competition, first in a Criterium format and later a road bicycle race, has become one of the most important one-day races in the regional calendar for almost a decade, marked by an important international registration. <\/p>\n
