Josep Nicolau Balaguer is officially proclaimed an illustrious son of Lloret de Vistalegre in an extraordinary meeting, with the presence of authorities and relatives of the cyclist, of the City Council on November 19, 2022. In an emotional and festive day, the municipality of Lloret de Vistalegre definitively restores the figure of Nicolau in a multitudinous event at Casa dels Tarongers. The speaker named by the Commission is Montserrat Mateu, coordinator of the book, while the Prosecutor is Andreu Ramis. Mateu and Ramis agree in their respective readings in hiring the figure of Nicolau. Undoubtedly, the research carried out attests more than enough merits for his proclamation as an illustrious son of the people. It should be mentioned that the proposal to proclaim an illustrious son is presented to the City Council on September 22, 2021 by the Lloret Cycling Club. the City Council, as established by the existing regulations, creates a Commission to study the proposal with the presence of the mayor Toni Benn\u00e0ssar, councilors Francisca Bonet, Sebasti\u00e0 Amengual and Mateu Catal\u00e0, Andreu Ramis, Montserrat Mateu and Guillem M.
